Frequently asked questions before setting foot in the Sanctum

Before your first class...

What do I wear?

Think layers. Shorts under sweatpants, tank top and/or bra adjacent underneath a shirt, socks, water. You're welcome to bring heels so long as the bottoms have been cleaned or not used outside. Don't forget to also bring compassion and an open mind as well :)

How early can I arrive?

Doors open 15 minutes prior to class start time. Please aim to at least be 5 minutes ahead of start time to get settled. Door will be locked 10 minutes after the start of class.

How many poles are in the sanctum?

There are a total of 6 poles in the Sanctum.

How many people can I expect in a class?

Majority of our classes are capped at 8 people. This is more often than not with students doing makeup classes. Typically enrollment is reached between 6-7 students.

How long is a single class?

Classes are typically 75 minutes long including a warm up & cool down.

WEARING LOTION

A cardinal rule in the pole world as well as club world– do not apply lotion 24 hours prior to class. This will inhibit you from proper contact with the pole & is also a safety hazard to you and other students.

REMOVE JEWELRY

Jewelry and wrist watches can not only become damaged but also damage the pole. This can cause scratches to the pole that compromise safety.

AVOID SUBSTANCES

Do not come to class under the influence of substances that can impede motor skills. Coming to class under these circumstances will inhibited from participating in class as per the instructor request.

Can I take more than one series at a time?	Yes & you receive a discount on Self Worship Open Pole when you do!
Can I join a series after it has already started?	No. You must wait for the next enrollment period.
Which class/level should I take?	We always encourage your first series as Soft Steel Sanctum to be Pillars of Pole.
Do I need prior pole experience?	Not at all
When does enrollment open?	We will always post on our Sign Up page about our enrollment periods.
What happens if a class is full?	We do offer a waitlist.
Do you offer private or semi-private lessons?	Absolutely.
Do you offer virtual classes?	Yes! Please check out TheArchives. It is our digital learning platform at TheArchives.SoftSteelSanctum.com

Do you offer open pole hours?	Yes. Soft Steel calls it Self-Worship
What is Open Pole?	A time to come to the studio and work on elements you've been working on in our series classes.
Who can attend Self Worship?	Students who are currently enrolled in a series or have been enrolled within the last 4 months.
Do I need to be a Soft Steel student?	Yes.
How much does it cost?	$35 or free for students enrolled in two series.
Do I need to register in advance?	Yes you must enroll 24 hours in advance.
Is Self-Worship instructor-led?	No and any teaching among students is strictly prohibited.
Can I practice moves I haven't learned in class?	It is highly suggested you don't work on moves you haven't worked on in classes .
Can I spot another student during Self Worship?	Spotting other attendees is not allowed and should only be spotted by Nesli the Chocolate.
Can I film during Self Worship?	Yes so long as you have permission from anyone else in your frame.

What happens if the studio cancels class?	You will be reached out via email to discuss make up options.
What happens if I'm running late?	Doors do lock within 10 minutes of class start time & it will be considered a missed class.
Can I carry a makeup into the next series?	No you must use your makeup within that series period.
Where can I use my makeup?	In a series of your level that also has space available.
Can I make up a missed class?	You must email info@softsteelsanctum.com at least 24 hours in advance.
What happens if I miss a class?	Without 24 hour prior notice it is considered a missed class and no makeup class is offered.
